During my 6 years at one of the world’s largest online thrift stores, I turned “thrift” from taboo to trend. I partnered with creative leads to bring our brand to life through email and sitewide campaigns, sales, blog posts, and buzzy newsjacks. In addition to writing copy, I also edited the copy team’s work and maintained brand guidelines. Staying flexible, thinking big, and executing quickly were essential.

Copywriting Supervisor, Menswear & Lifestyle || 2015 - 2017
Lane Crawford is a 165 year old luxury retailer with a loyal customer base in Hong Kong and Mainland China. As part of their e-commerce team, I wrote product descriptions for their online menswear an inventory. Working quickly and accurately was essential as we had daily targets of 100 products per writer to put on the site. My range ran the gamut of everything from silky Dolce & Gabbana suits and Gucci hoodies, to signature Fritz Hansen furniture and the latest DJI drone.
Part Researcher, Part Marketer, Part Writer
Fresh out of college, I had zero technical and brand knowledge so I took it upon myself to become an expert. By the end of my tenure, my technical guides for menswear, furniture, and devices became useful references for the copy team to write even quicker.
I did more than just churn out copy. I also improved the customer experience by creating size conversions for different brands. I also championed cross-selling strategies such as adding hyperlinks to our copies.
Introduction into Leadership
I hired and trained a team of Menswear & Home & Lifestyle copywriters. They had no pre-existing technical knowledge of fashion, so it was up to me to not only bring them up to speed but also ensure complete accuracy in their copies. My team was eventually able to work independently and I encouraged them often to take initiative and start their own passion projects.
